MUNCIE, Ind. - The northern half of Calvert Street between Riverside and Ashland avenues will be permanently closed Monday as Ball State University begins site preparation for the new Music Instruction Building.
A portion of a restricted parking lot at the corner of McKinley and Riverside was also closed this week as part of the project.
The $21 million building will offer students a new performance hall, band and choral practice rooms and a digital recording studio. The building will be finished in mid-2004.
Arrangements are being made for an official groundbreaking ceremony in mid to late May.
