The U.S. Office of Personnel Management has named Patrick Breen of Las Vegas, Nev., a Presidential Management Intern finalist. Federal government agencies selected from 600 finalists of the program.
Breen will receive his master's of public administration degree from Ball State in May.
"The two-year Presidential Management Intern program is widely regarded as the federal government's primary source of tomorrow's managers," said Joe Losco, chair of Ball State's political science department. "Breen's selection attests to his skills and abilities and it is a positive reflection on the quality of our graduate students and programs."
Established in 1977, the PMI Program is designed to attract to federal service outstanding graduate students from a wide variety of academic disciplines who have an interest in and commitment to a career in the analysis and management of public policies and programs.
Most appointments are with federal agencies in Washington, D.C.
