MUNCIE, Ind. -- Harry J. Macy, chair of Ball State University's social work department, has been appointed to the Council on Social Work Education's (CSWE) Commission on Educational Policy.
The 11-member commission is charged with preparing a statement of social work curriculum policy to encourage excellence in education programs. The statement is used by the CSWE Commission on Accreditation in formulating and revising accreditation standards.
The group also identifies issues needing attention at all levels of social work education and establishes priorities for educational policy and planning.
Macy has served as treasurer of the CSWE board of directors, chair of its budget and finance committee and as a member of its executive committee.
CSWE represents more than 2,700 individual members and 131 graduate and 434 undergraduate programs of social work education in the United States.
