Nancy Wray, Parking Services' office manager, said people will find the oops voucher with their new parking decals. The voucher can be used one time if a person forgets to transfer their decal from one vehicle to another.
In addition, Parking Services this year has extended options to cover one out-of-zone parking citation or if someone is issued a ticket for being at an expired meter.
"It's a one-time only freebie," Wray said. "If you receive a citation for one of these reasons, you can bring the voucher to Parking Services within five business days, and it will be forgiven one time. Subsequent violations will not be forgiven, and full payment will be required."
Wray noted there still are exceptions to the oops voucher.
"It does not cover anyone if they illegally park in handicap spaces, fire lanes, director parking spaces or any other areas that are automatic tow-away zones," she said.
The department issues about 20,000 parking decals yearly.
