Ball State professor receives state honor (5/4/2000)

Judy Thornburg
MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State University speech pathology and audiology professor Judith Thornburg was recently honored by the Indiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Thornburg received Honors of the Association for her contributions to speech pathology.

Some of her contributions include designing one of the state's first programs to integrate curriculums to better teach preschool children speech and language skills. Thornburg also designed a graduate level course to provide continuing education to help professionals retain their educational licenses.

Since becoming a member in 1962, Thornburg has served the organization in various capacities and has been a member of numerous committees.

"I like to do things that support my profession because it is very important and helps a lot of people," said Thornburg. "I have put in a lot of time and effort over the years and it is nice to be recognized by my profession."
