The Ronald E. and Joan M. Venderly Scholarship is available to Allen County residents enrolled in an education major offered by Ball State's Teachers College.
Students must maintain a grade-point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship may be renewed for up to three years.
Ronald E. Venderly is retired from the U.S. Army after serving as an infantry officer. He also spent 20 years at Merrill Lynch and 13 years with Shearson Smith Barney, both brokerage firms. He received his bachelor's degree in education from Indiana University in 1960 and a master's in guidance and counseling from Ball State in 1964.
Joan M. Venderly received a nursing degree from Fort Wayne School of Nursing at Lutheran Hospital, where she served as an instructor.
Two of the couple's three daughters attended Ball State.
