The students are taking advantage of the opportunity to work side by side with a major Hollywood production crew, said Nancy Carlson, chairperson of the telecommunications department.
"I'm happy for the opportunity the students have in getting to work on a Hollywood production right here in Muncie," Carlson said.
The reality show - "Armed and Famous" - follows five celebrities as they train and work alongside Muncie police officers. The show, scheduled to air on CBS, is featuring Erik Estrada, La Toya Jackson, Jack Osborne, Jason "Wee Man" Acuña and Trish Stratus.
Sophomore Tyler Westerfield said the production crew wants the students to be as involved as possible. The students run errands and get the crew things they need, but also spend time observing and watching how things flow on the set.
"It is a very fun and exciting experience," Westerfield said. "I am happy to be a part of it."
Some of the students joining Westerfield as production assistants for the reality show include seniors Jacob Jennings, Lauren Peak, Katherine Rothrock and Abbie Braun and juniors Brien McElhatten and Kevin Head.
