Chungwon Choue, president of Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea, will receive an honorary doctorate of laws. He is being recognized for his contributions to higher education and for developing international education opportunities for faculty and students.
An estimated 8,000 to 9,000 people are expected to attend ceremonies in Worthen Arena when the university graduates 1,047 students.
Commencement begins at 2 p.m. with ceremonies lasting about two hours. No tickets are required.
Ball State President Blaine A. Brownell will address the graduates, which include 769 individuals receiving bachelor's degrees; 159 master's degrees; 105 associate degrees; and 14 doctoral or specialist in education degrees.
Participants will assemble for the traditional procession at 1:15 p.m. Students receiving associate, bachelor's and master's degrees will meet in the Field Sports Building. Doctoral and specialist degree candidates will assemble inside Worthen Arena lobby near the main ticket office area on the ground level.
Faculty and professional staff also will line up in the Worthen Arena lobby. Under the direction of faculty marshals, faculty will form two lines and enter the arena to await the procession of students.
