MUNCIE, Ind. - Judith Roepke, dean of the School of Continuing Education and Public Service and professor of family and consumer sciences, has received the Indiana Dietetic Association’s Honored Dietitian Award.

Roepke will retire at the end of June.

The award recognizes "a member of long standing who has demonstrated the highest standards, ethics, service and devotion to the Indiana Dietetic Association...and has made through leadership and vision unique contributions to the community and the state association."

Roepke’s award recognizes her contributions during a 44-year career as a registered dietitian. Her professional accomplishments include numerous publications and presentations in the area of maternal and infant nutrition. Her service contributions range from member and chair of the Delaware County Board of Health to chair of the Indiana Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies Coalition.

Roepke has been a long-standing member and leader of the East Central Indiana Dietetic Association and served on the Indiana Dietetic Association board for many years. She is the current American Dietetic Association liaison to the National Perinatal Association, La Leche League International and the International Board of Lactation Consultants.
