The honor is a result of a study, "A Ranking of Teaching Quality in Finance Departments Based on Contributions in Financial Education Literature," conducted by two Western Kentucky University finance professors. The study was recently published in the spring 2006 issue of Advances in Financial Education.
The study identified the nation's top finance programs by the number of financial education research articles published from 1991 to 2005 in four journals.
"This ranking underscores the quality of the finance program at Ball State and reflects our continuing commitment to students and the quality of education," said Manoj Athavale, chair of the finance and insurance department. "This ranking provides college-bound students and potential employers with information on the program's strengths and will help attract and retain good students and faculty.
