As an alumnus, Land has supervised Ball State student teachers and is a frequent speaker in classes for prospective marketing teachers.

Land has been a teacher at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis for 15 years. She is also an active participant in professional organizations including serving as president, vice president and secretary of the Indiana Marketing Education Association.

The award was given Oct. 12 at the 78th annual Business and Marketing Education Conference sponsored by the Department of Business Information Technology.

Land earned a bachelor's degree from Ball State in 1973 and a master's of art in education in 1979. Land and husband, David, are Ball State alumni.
