MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State University will recognize benefactors who funded the French-made carillon bells in Shafer Tower.
A ceremony is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m., Sept. 30, in the Art and Journalism Building.
The presentation will be hosted by Don Park, vice president for university advancement. Speakers include Ball State President Blaine A. Brownell, Robert A. Kvam, acting dean of the College of Fine Arts and Thomas J. Kinghorn, vice president for business affairs.
Shafer Tower includes 48 French-made, custom-cast and individually-tuned bells. The bells will chime the hours, as well as play Ball State tunes, hymns and melodies on special occasions, such as homecoming and commencement.
