Naomi Karp, director of the National Institute on Early Childhood Development and Education, will meet media representatives at 1:30 p.m. in the Bertha Orr Room on the second floor of the L. A. Pittenger Student Center, 2000 W. University Ave.
Karp is a distinguished author, researcher and teacher of training and outreach programs for children with special needs and their families. She established and managed early childhood research at the institute.
She will also address BeneFacta Day participants at 3 p.m. in Cardinal Hall in the Student Center. Karp's talk is entitled, "They Are Ready to Learn, Are We Ready to Teach?"
BeneFacta Day celebrates external funding that supports research and service. This year's theme focuses on children. The BeneFacta Day program also celebrates the opening of the Indiana Center on Early Childhood Education, to be housed at Ball State.
