Alpha Lambda Delta wins national award for second year in a row (9/11/2000)
MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State University’s freshman all-discipline academic honorary society, Alpha Lambda Delta, recently won a national award for a second year in a row.

The Maintaining the Flame award was presented to Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) for continuing excellence through community service. During the 1999-2000 school year, the Ball State ALD chapter participated in campus community services programs including Salvation Army bell ringing, the campus leaf rake and Koins for Kids.

ALD members involved with the award were junior political science major Matt Crouse, Frankfort, Ind.; junior history major Heather Williams, Huntington, Ind.; junior elementary education major Tricia Stammen, Piqua, Ohio; junior business administration and finance major Brian Kay, Fort Wayne, Ind.; junior psychology major Stacey Ergang, Crown Point, Ind.; junior chemistry and premedical preparation major Jauhna Carter, Evansville, Ind.; freshman undecided major Christy Myers, Madison, Wis.; junior theater major Heidi Nees, Piqua, Ohio; and junior accounting major Jessica McClure, Wolcott, Ind.

Alpha Lambda Delta is a national freshman honorary society for students who reach a minimum GPA of 3.5 one of the semesters of their freshman year. The organization’s purpose is recognition of outstanding academic achievement.
