Richard Meyer
MUNCIE, Ind. - Richard J. Meyer, Edmund F. Ball and Virginia B. Ball Professor of Telecommunications at Ball State University, has been appointed visiting professor of journalism and media studies at the University of Hong Kong's graduate school of journalism for the 2001-2002 academic year.

In addition he has received a fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council to research a book about early Chinese cinema.

Meyer will team-teach a new course dealing with film and culture with Leo Ofan Lee of Harvard University. He will assist the school with the development of a film criticism curriculum and help organize the Shanghai-Hong Kong Film Festival.
