President Bush has declared Friday as a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001. In observance, Ball State will have a brief service of remembrance on the Arts Terrace at noon.

Supervisors are encouraged to provide opportunities for their employees, whenever possible, to attend this service or other programs planned in the community during this time. I am also asking that this Friday be "red, white, and blue day" at Ball State University. Let us all proudly show our country's colors as we remember this national tragedy.

After much discussion over the past two days, most major athletic conferences have decided to cancel all athletic events through the weekend. Ball State's athletic events will, therefore, not take place.
