MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University Alumni Association recently named six alumni as recipients of the Graduate of the Last Decade (G.O.L.D.) Award.
The award, honors alumni who have demonstrated personal and professional achievement, community involvement and commitment to Ball State within the first 10 years of graduation.
Ball State Alumni Council President Tony Schneider will present the awards at the homecoming alumni awards dinner, Oct. 13, at the Alumni Center, 2800 W. Bethel Ave.
Recipients include:
- Kacy Andrews, 1991 telecommunications graduate, moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television and film. She has spent the last seven years working at Hyperion Studio, an independent production company, on various projects for ABC, FOX and a Miramax motion picture release.
- Michele Delaney, 1992 graduate of the finance department, has advanced her career at Fort Wayne National Bank (now National City Bank) from teller to assistant vice president and relationship manager in the charitable and endowment services department.
- John Lewis, 1994 graduate with a degree in sports administration, interned with what is now the Comfort Classic at the Brickyard after graduation. This led to his current position as facilities manager for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He also spends two months each winter coordinating all scheduling (facility set-up/take down and on-track testing) for the Indy 200 at Walt Disney World Speedway. He also is the director of track safety and part of race control for all Indy Racing League races.
- Staci Lugar, 1995 graduate with a degree in international business, is currently an account executive with Villing and Company an advertising agency in Mishawaka. Her current philanthropic assignment is with a missionary in Sochi, Russia.
- Tania Said, 1993 graduate, has completed her master of arts degree in museum studies from George Washington University. She is employed as the community services manager at the Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies in Washington, D.C.
- Darcy Wilkinson, 1993 graduate, is a commercial underwriter for Meridian Insurance in Indianapolis. She speaks at schools for the national injury prevention program Think First, a program that focuses on brain and spinal cord injury prevention. She is a member of the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation Committee.
