Student Center food court to remain open during renovations (6/22/2001)
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Cardinal Crossing Food Court in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center will remain open throughout renovation work beginning in the area this summer.

Part of the food court area and the Delaware Room will be renovated for the Center for International Programs. The center, now located at 708 N. Calvert St., will move this fall to the Student Center to make room for the new Music Instruction Building, whose construction will begin on that spot in late fall.

"Cardinal Crossing will continue to offer many great tasting items throughout the next academic year," said Ann Talley, director of Residence Halls Dining Service, which manages the food court.

Included in the renovation is the Tally dining room, which will undergo a facelift reflecting a "high-tech" ambiance. New wall covering, lighting, seating and multiple televisions will be features.

Noble Roman’s Pizza Express will move to the current Hot!Hot!Hot! Mexican food station, while Mexican items will be added to the offerings at Charlie’s Grille.

"Chef Lou Rice and the staff of University Banquet and Catering will continue to prepare a ‘Chef’s Creation’ entree each weekday in the Country Cafe," said Talley. "The entrees include smoked Cornish hens with mashed potatoes, grilled flank steak burritos and interesting pasta dishes that we think customers will really enjoy."

In addition, Country Cafe will serve made-to-order omelettes and fresh Belgian waffles during breakfast hours. Salads, fresh fruit cups and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream pints will also be available.
