MUNCIE, Ind. - The American Association of University Professors recently elected a Ball State University faculty member to its national council.

Joe Losco, political science, is one of 10 new members on the council, the AAUP’s governing body. He represents District IV, which includes Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky and Missouri. Council members serve for three years and assume office this June.

AAUP is a non-profit charitable and educational organization that promotes academic freedom by supporting tenure, academic due process and standards of quality in higher education. The organization has about 45,000 members at colleges and universities throughout the United States.
