MUNCIE, Ind. - Christy Huston has joined the Ball State University Development office as an assistant director.

Huston works with the College of Fine Arts, assisting the college with major gift support. Her assigned geographic areas include Muncie, Indianapolis and the South Bend-Mishawaka area.

"Christy is being well received by the Ball State community,” said Hudson Akin, University Development executive director. “She will do a terrific job in sharing with our constituents about the opportunities for Ball State students."

The University Development staff is responsible for major gift development, annual giving, phonathon, athletic fund raising, donor societies and donor stewardship. The staff works directly with the deans of the seven academic colleges and in assigned geographic areas, beginning and maintaining relationships with alumni and friends of the university.

Huston received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University in 1984 and attended the Notre Dame Institute for Organization Management. She is a graduate of Martinsville High School.

Her professional work experience includes serving as manager of economic and business development for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, assistant director of legislative and information services for the Indiana Department of Corrections and was a Governor’s Fellow for the State of Indiana.

Huston is married and has three children.
