The students completed Entreprep, a year-long entrepreneurial-based program, by attending a six-day summer institute at Ball State, four booster workshops and completing a 150-hour internship. Each student received a $1,100 scholarship to the college of their choice from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
The students and their high schools include: Jeff Beyrau, Lois LaLonde, Stuart Wall and Mike Yacko of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, Indianapolis; Benjamin Frederick, Burris Laboratory School, Muncie; Natasha Caldwell and Vince Voisard of Delta High School, Muncie; Shayla Griffin and Catherine Percy of Lawrence Central High School, Indianapolis; Spencer Raymond of New Palestine High School; Jessica Cottee, Carla Johnson and Adam Thompson of Pike High School, Indianapolis; and Roman Martinez and Abby Perkins of Yorktown High School.
The Midwest Entrepreneurial Education Center is the training and development facility of the nationally-ranked entrepreneurship program at Ball State.
Its mission is to develop the entrepreneurial perspective in individuals at the youth, collegiate and adult levels and develop an entrepreneurial environment throughout the Midwest.
