The task force made drug busts at two locations, resulting in the seizure of 260 ecstasy pills, 868 grams of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Names of those arrested have not been released. Many or all are believed to be enrolled at Ball State.
"We take all drug abuse problems very seriously, and the university addresses this issue in a variety of ways," said Douglas McConkey, vice president for student affairs. "We’re pleased when law enforcement efforts are successful, but we also consistently provide education to students on the dangers of illegal drug use."
He said the university has stepped up its efforts to educate students about the negative effects of designer drugs including ecstasy. Designer drugs have gained popularity with young adults in recent years.
"We are hopeful that the task force’s activity will reduce the availability of marijuana and ecstasy in the campus area," he said.
