A $50,000 gift from a California couple has endowed a scholarship for Jay County residents attending Ball State University.
By Marc Ransford, Media Relations ManagerThe Ruth E. Study Scholarship was created by Floyd and Betty Iljana of Newcastle, Calif., in memory of Betty's mother. Study, who attended Ball State, and her daughter formerly were Jay County residents.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a major in Teachers College, be from Jay County and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of three years.
When the scholarship is available to be awarded, it will be listed on the Ball State University Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid Web site at www.bsu.edu/finaid.
