Web contest will help find name for new food court (2/26/2001)
MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Atrium, a food court in the Art and Journalism Building scheduled to open fall 2001, will offer a variety of food choices at competitive prices.

A Starbucks Coffee Shop will be located in the new Ball State Bookstore, which will be managed by Barnes and Noble. Chick-fil-A and Sbarro will be part of the new food court. Agreements are pending with Taco Bell and Asian Creations.

A Web-based contest for students will begin Monday, Feb. 19, to name a new soup and sandwich grille with a newspaper theme.

Students may go to www.bsu.edu/dining and click on “name the grille” to vote for the name of the new grille and have a chance to win several prizes.

Prizes such as a Huffy Mountain Bike, a Sony Color Watchman, a NASCAR 600 Racing Set and a Fuji 35mm Camera Kit will be awarded in a random drawing of students who provide their name and local phone number on the Web site.

Students will vote for one of four proposed names: AJ’s Grille, McKinley Grille, Riley’s Grille and Front Page Grille.

All students with a VAX or Outlook account may vote once between Monday, Feb. 19 and Friday, March 2.

Prize winners will be announced the following week on the Web site and will be listed in the Daily News.

Anticipated hours of operation for the new food court will be from 7 a.m. to midnight. Resident meal card privileges will not be accepted from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. due to the anticipated high demand during that time.
