"This graduate school ranking by Success validates the impact our program has had since its inception in 1983," said Donald F. Kuratko, the founding director of Ball State’s program. said.
"Over the years, students have been attracted to Ball State because of the program’s reputation for educating the best and brightest entrepreneurs," he said. "We can be proud that our MBA in entrepreneurship ranks ahead of some of the nation’s most prominent graduate schools."
The magazine polled about 250 schools in an online survey. The areas of comparison included caliber of schools, curriculum, faculty, support for students and overall program. The schools were ranked according to the final scores. A detailed listing of schools and comprehensive information about the survey may be found at www.successmagazine.com on or after March 13.
Also featured in the magazine is a four-page story about Kuratko, the Stoops Distinguished Professor of Business, as well as two graduates of the entrepreneurship program, Roy Williams, a 1991 graduate and owner of an aviation parts company based in Kendallville; and James Stratman, a 1993 graduate and owner of a plastics company in Evansville.
The entrepreneurship program has received numerous awards since its inception. It has been regularly top-ranked by business publications, including Business Week and U.S. News & World
Report. It recently was awarded the 2001 National Model Innovative Pedagogy Award for Entrepreneurship sponsored by the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship at its recent national conference.
