Burris Laboratory School will be offering a series of summer enrichment courses for students in grades three through eight. The classes will meet from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. June 7-18 and include:
- Design It, Wear It - Students will learn to design wearable art such as rolled beads, clay medallions, collage pins and stamped scarves and hats. Open to third- through fifth-grade students.
- Creative Dramatics - Students will learn theatrical skills such as improvisation, stage make-up, set building and performance. They will also have chances to write, act in and direct short skits as well as an original play. Open to fourth- through eighth-grade students.
- All Things Physics - By videotaping everyday experiences and using video analysis to examine movement, students will explore the world of physics, biophysics and astrophysics. Open to fifth- through eighth-grade students.
- Technology with a Purpose - Students will learn how to build a personal Web page using Web-authoring software and digital images. Open to sixth- through eighth-grade students.
- Jewelry Making - Students will explore a variety of techniques to create their own jewelry pieces. Open to sixth- through eighth-grade students.
- Beginning Japanese - Students will explore the basics of Japanese language and culture. Open to fifth- through eighth-grade students.
