"For those who have not experienced UniverCity, it is a dynamic time on campus when world-class thinkers and innovators come to Ball State and the Muncie community," said Lorraine Sinclair, UniverCity co-director. "The campus is turned into a tent city where workshops, lectures and other events are held."
Plus, since the celebration will be carried on throughout Muncie, there are also UniverCity volunteer opportunities at the Muncie Children's Museum, Muncie Public Library, Minnetrista Cultural Center and Oakhurst Gardens, Muncie Center for the Arts and other locations, Sinclair said.
This year, colleges have been assigned days in order to carry out events that relate to their fields and the "Celebrate Community" theme.
These assigned days are:
- Sunday, Sept. 22 - College of Fine Arts
- Monday, Sept. 23 - College of Business
- Tuesday, Sept. 24 - College of Architecture and Planning and College of Applied Sciences and Technology
- Wednesday, Sept. 25 - Teachers College
- Thursday, Sept. 26 - College of Communication, Information, and Media and the Graduate School
