MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State University has been cited in the latest
issue of Peer Review, a quarterly published by the American Association of
Universities and Colleges, as one of the nation's best examples for the
manner in which it supports faculty to conduct international teaching and
research.
In an article, “The Worthy Goal of a Worldly Faculty,” Ball State
is one of four universities commended as a “best practice”
institution.
Ball State is especially noted for its use of capital campaign money to fund exchange programs, to provide seed money to create study abroad programs, to fund grants for the attendance of overseas conferences and to fund grants which encourage junior faculty members to internationalize their teaching and research.
Other institutions cited were Texas A&M University, Oregon State University and Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.
