Lilly Endowment Inc. and Ball State University's Department of Theatre and Dance are featuring actress Lindsay Crouse on campus through Jan. 31.

The accomplished actress has appeared in several high-profile movies including "Imposter," "The Verdict," "Places in the Heart," "The Indian in the Cupboard" and "All the President's Men." On television, she has had roles on "Hack," "Alias," "Frasier," "Providence" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

She is leading master acting classes for theatre students and will shed some light on establishing acting careers in New York or Los Angeles, said Bill Jenkins, interim chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance.

"Bringing a prominent actress like Lindsay Crouse will help our students see that dedication to their college studies can eventually pay off," Jenkins said. "Seeing firsthand that our program is connected to such talent will not only help inspire our undergraduates, but will also attract more students to Ball State."

The visit is co-sponsored by the Theatre and Dance Department and has been made possible through the "Building the Four-Year Commitment" grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. The $3.5 million grant is being used to help students make a stronger commitment to stay in school and graduate.
