MUNCIE, Ind. -- Brad Stohry, a junior from Flat Rock, Ind., and Douglas
Berry, a senior from Middlebury, Ind., are recipients of the Robert E.
Kennett Memorial Scholarship at Ball State University.
The scholarship honors the late Robert E. Kennett, an employee in Ball
State’s dining service for 27 years. He was assistant manager for
Woodworth and Studebaker dining areas before becoming dining service
purchasing agent in 1986.
A retired Army veteran of Korea and Vietnam, Kennett was a lifetime member of the Anderson Chapter #25 of the Disabled American Veterans. Phyllis Kennett, his widow, is the bookkeeper for Ball State’s Woodworth Plaza.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be full-time undergraduates with at least a sophomore standing. Priority is given to marketing majors from central Indiana. Accounting and family and consumer sciences students are also eligible.
Recipients need not demonstrate financial need, but preference is given to students who, without assistance, might not be able to continue their educations. The desire for education is the largest determining factor.
