"A Glimpse of India" will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Community Civic Center. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward giving children with emotional and behavioral disabilities a creative outlet and social interaction in a safe environment at the Muncie Center for the Arts, said Theresa Kruczek, counseling psychology professor and program supervisor.

"The Caring Arts Program is special because it allows these children to use creative arts to enhance their social skills and capacity to manage their emotions," Kruczek said.

The program covers visual arts, music, drama, physical activities, teamwork, problem solving and relaxation techniques. Attendees are pre-K through 6th-grade children who have emotional disabilities that substantially interfere with social, family and educational functions.

The cost of the evening is $25 for individuals, $40 for couples and $160 for a table of eight. There are also a limited number of children's tickets available for $10.
