The center, the professional education outreach arm of the nationally-ranked Entrepreneurship Program at Ball State, was honored for its measurable progress in improving quality and excellence.
Indiana Gov. Frank O'Bannon established the award in 1995. Lt. Gov. Joseph Kernan and representatives of the Indiana Business Modernization and Technology Corp. presented the award.
"The award is an expression of public support for the highest standards of quality leadership and achievements by Hoosier organizations," said Del Schuh, president of Indiana Business Modernization and Technology. "It is designed to foster continuous improvement."
Neil Palomba, dean of the College of Business, said the award signifies the role of the center.
"This third consecutive award reflects the tremendous impact the Midwest Entrepreneurial Education Center has throughout the state of Indiana," he said. "Our College of Business is proud of this center's leadership role in entrepreneurial efforts for the state."
The Ball State program has been recognized as one of the premier centers for entrepreneurship, achieved several competitive awards of excellence, is one of the top 10 centers in the nation and serves as headquarters of the National Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers.
