The program begins at 4:30 p.m. in Ball State's Art and Journalism Building, room 175, with a presentation on iCommunication. The project, funded by a $20 million grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc., will prepare Ball State students for creative high-tech careers in digital communications and related fields.
Following the presentation, there will be tours of technology centers, media labs and the Center for Media Design's new research and development facility.
Located in the Ball Communication Building, the Center for Media Design serves as a research, assessment and development hub for digital media applications in education, industry and communities.
There also will be a presentation on the Muncie Innovation Connector, a business incubator designed to help technology start-ups. The incubator program is a partnership between Ball State, Cardinal Health System and the City of Muncie. It operates under the auspices of the Delaware Advancement Corp.
Refreshments will be served from 5:30 to 6 p.m. during the networking session.
Tech Tuesday programs, scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month, allow local IT professionals, educators, entrepreneurs and business leaders to discuss or learn about technology-related issues.
