Students sending get well wishes to Letterman (1/28/2000)
MUNCIE, Ind. – For 10 days students at Ball State University will have the opportunity to personally wish alumnus David Letterman a speedy recovery from his recent quintuple heart bypass operation.

The Student Government Association is hoping to gather as many signatures and personal messages from students, faculty and staff as possible.

The kickoff for the card signing will be at the men's basketball game Saturday. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. in University Arena.

The signatures will be collected on 100 poster boards which will eventually be taped together to resemble a large fold-out greeting card. The posters will be displayed at various campus locations during this 10-day period.

Signings will take place at the following times and locations:

  •  Jan. 29: 1 p.m., men's basketball game, University Arena
  •  Jan. 31-Feb. 1: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Woodworth Residence Hall
  •  Feb. 2-3: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., LaFollette Residence Halls
  •  Feb. 2: 7 p.m., men's basketball game, University Arena
  •  Feb. 4: 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Ball Communication Building
