Officials to discuss progress of tech efforts (5/8/2003)

MUNCIE, Ind. – Leaders in Muncie and Delaware County are working to make the area a test bed for broadband technology, and members of the Ball State community are involved in this effort.

On Tuesday, May 20 committee chairs for the Community Technology Initiative of Vision 2006 will take part in a panel discussion to update the community on the progress being made toward their goal.

Members of the panel are:

  • Steve Anderson, First Merchants Corp., chairman of the innovation funding committee.
  • Roger Arwood, First Merchants Corp., chairman of the business recruitment and development committee.
  • Ron Fauquher, Ontario Corp., chairman of the technology transfer committee.
  • Eric Kelly, professor of urban planning at Ball State, chairman of the education and training committee.
  • Thomas Kinghorn, vice president for business affairs and treasurer at Ball State, chairman of the Community Technology Initiative.
  • Phil Repp, associate vice president of information technology at Ball State, will discuss the work of the infrastructure planning committee.

The panel discussion is part of the Vision 2006 Tech Tuesday program, which is held every third Tuesday of the month from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Horizon Convention Center, 401 S.
