MUNCIE, Ind. - A new scholarship to provide assistance to dance majors will honor a former faculty member at Ball State University.
By Marc Ransford, Media Relations ManagerThe Lynnette Jordan Schisla Dance Scholarship was established by the Schisla and Jordan families in memory of the professor, who taught at Ball State from 1986 to 1992 when she succumbed to cancer.
Schisla was born in West Allis, Wis., and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Butler University. She taught dance in Indianapolis from her college years until 1986 when she joined Ball State's Department of Theatre and Dance. While at Ball State, she was one of the faculty members responsible for the creation and development of the dance major.
