MUNCIE, Ind. – A Ball State University marketing professor has received a national award for work in sales education.
Ramon Avila, the George and Frances Ball Distinguished Professor of Marketing, was honored at the National Conference in Sales Management with the Mu Kappa Tau National Honor Society Recognition Award.
The organization recognized Avila for his outstanding scholarly contributions to the sales discipline. He is only the third marketing professor to receive the award.
Avila is the founding director of Ball State’s Selling Institute that was established to design and conduct innovative research and to offer training and service activities.
He served as the national director of the National Conference on Sales Management and is an active researcher with more than 30 published journal articles.
He has also served as a consultant for AT&T, Burroughs, Honeywell, Indiana Gas, Indiana Bell, Indiana Michigan Power and ABB. Avila is a referee and reviewer for various professional publications.
