MUNCIE, Ind. - A gift from the estate of a former college curriculum advisor will create a new scholarship at Ball State University.
By Marc Ransford, Media Relations ManagerThe Hallie Conrad Boals Scholarship will provide financial assistance to students majoring in elementary education at Ball State.
Boals, who died Feb. 3 at age 89 at the Muncie Health Care Center, received a bachelor's degree in 1949 and a master's degree in 1953 from Ball State Teachers College.
She was a curriculum advisor at Ball State before her retirement in 1974 when she was named curricular advisor emeritus. She had previously been a supervisor of elementary education at Elkhart (Ind.) City Schools and a teacher at McKinley and Longfellow elementary schools in Muncie.
