Muncie, Ind. – Jeannine Harrold, director of the Ball State Career Center, has added a new title to her resumé.

Harrold has been named director of the university’s United Way campaign. The appointment is for three years. She succeeds Matt Stephenson, alumni center director, whose term has expired.

“Matt Stephenson’s service to the university community and the United Way has been outstanding,” said Blaine A. Brownell, university president. “The university exceeded its goal for the United Way campaign in each of the past three years and saw the number of Pathfinders soar.”

Pathfinders are individuals or families who pledge $1,000 or more per year to the United Way campaign.

“Ball State is fortunate to have someone like Jeannine Harrold, who, I am confident, will continue to provide the university strong leadership in its efforts to support the agencies that rely on the United Way,” Brownell said.

Group chairs for the next year have also been announced. They are:

  • Clarence and Carol Casazza, retirees
  • Don and Lorna Van Meter, faculty and professional staff
  • Chris and Ellen Johnson, service staff

Through a single community-wide campaign, United Way of America volunteers raise funds to support local service agencies. In total, voluntary contributions to the United Way supports approximately 45,000 agencies and chapters, helping millions of people from all walks of life. Apart from government, the United Way supports the greatest variety of health and human services in the country.
