President Jo Ann M. Gora will join the Ball State Foundation to honor friends of the university at the Emeriti, Beneficence Society and Friends Social, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Art and Journalism Building.

The social will feature a carillon recital performance by John Gouwens, visiting lecturer in carillon, at 3:30 p.m. on the 48-bell carillon at Shafer Tower.

The social is restricted to Ball State retired faculty, members of the Foundation's Beneficence Society and invited friends. However, the public is invited to enjoy the 3:30 p.m. carillon concert.

Gouwens has been a member of The Culver Academies since 1980 and serves as organist and carillonneur of Culver Academies. He also studied organ and carillon at Indiana University, the University of Michigan and the University of Kansas.
