James and Edward Wainscott, two brothers originally from LaPorte, have created a fund to provide scholarships to accounting students at Ball State University.
The James L. and Edward J. Wainscott Accounting Scholarship Fund was established with gifts totaling $64,500 from the brothers. The fund will provide scholarships to Ball State students majoring in accounting and demonstrating financial need.
By Marc Ransford, Media Relations ManagerEdward Wainscott received a bachelor's degree in 1974 from Ball State and works in LaPorte as a certified public accountant. His brother, James, received a bachelor's degree from Ball State in 1979 and is president and chief executive officer of AK Steel Corp. in Middletown, Ohio.
