MUMET 125 - Acoustics.

An introduction to physical acoustics and psychoacoustics, with an emphasis on music and audio applications. Topics include the physical properties of sound, wave mechanics, acoustic measurements, tuning and temperament, and perceptual properties of sound. Prerequisite: permission of the department chairperson.

An advanced course in recording technology. Individual problems in recording master tapes of solo, ensemble, and large group repertoire. Each project requires seminar and laboratory participation.
