The 36th Festival of New Music will take place this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with events in the Music Technology Studios and Sursa Hall. Our guest composer, Paul Rudy, is Director of Composition and Director of the Inter-media/Music Productions and Computer Technology Center at the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri, Kansas City. Rudy's music will be featured throughout the festival, including a world premiere on Saturday night's concert, and a unique performance on prepared cactus for the Saturday afternoon concert.

Our guest pianist for Friday's night concert is Lucia Unrau, Professor of Music at Bluffton College and coordinator of the keyboard area at the Interlochen Arts Camp. She will be performing works by Keith Kothman and Rudy.

Other visiting composers will be coming in from Kansas City (including former BSU student Jason Bolte), Chicago, and Ohio.

Faculty composers featured include Jesse Allison, Keith Kothman, Jedy Nagel, Michael Pounds, David Stern, Eleanor Trawick and Philip Tietze, and solo performances by Mark Boyle, Adda Kridler, Philip Tietze, and George Wolfe.
