Biography

Patricia Sweger is a staff accompanist at Ball State University School of Music where she regularly performs on faculty and student degree recital programs.  Recent noteworthy performances include the International Double Reed Society Conferences of 2005, 2004, 2002 and 2001 and a collaboration with the world-renowned double bassist, Francois Rabbath, in a solo guest recital in 2002.

Ms. Sweger graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Alverno College, WI and earned her Master of Music in piano performance and ensemble accompanying from Northwestern University, IL.  Her teachers include Benedicta Fritz, Gui Mombaert, Robert Weirich and Judit Jaimes.  She has performed on the Milwaukee Civic Music Association’s Concert Artist Series, the MacDowell Club Concert Series and as concerto soloist with various ensembles throughout Wisconsin.  As collaborative pianist, she has performed with such groups as the Milwaukee Music Ensemble and the Da Vinci Quartet.

Ms. Sweger’s awards include the Wisconsin Federation Young Artist Award, the Milwaukee Music Teachers Association Artist Award, the Milwaukee Civic Music Association Artist Award, the Polanki Chopin Award and the Ida Schroeder Trust Award.  She received Honorable Mention in the International Piano Recording Competition.

In addition to teaching privately, Ms Sweger has served on the preparatory faculties of both Alverno and Carroll Colleges.  She holds Professional Advancement Certification in the Music Teachers National Association and the Indiana Music Teachers Association.
