She then earned a M.M. and Ph. D. in Historical Musicology from Florida State University. For seven years she taught at North Florida Community College in Madison, Florida. She has directed many early music ensembles and recently organized and performed instrumental and vocal music for NFCC's first Renaissance Dinner. Rebecca has given papers at many regional musicology conferences on eighteenth-century sacred and secular music including the music of African-British composer Ignatius Sancho and parish church composer John Chetham. She presented a paper on Sancho in London, England for the Southeast Historical Keyboard Society's London Conclave. Recently she has finished research on the music of the intimate theatre in the 1940s and 50s in London through first-hand interviews with one of the composers and presented a paper on her findings at a musicology conference last year. |
