Master of Music in Conducting
Ball State University's master of music degree in conducting requires 32 credit hours of study. Minimum course requirements are outlined below.

  • Ensembles (1-3)
  • Academic Music: three courses--one core course minimum in theory/composition; one core course minimum in history/musicology (7-9)
Conducting Courses (12 hours)


Ensemble Administration or Laboratory Course (2-3 hours)


Instrumental or Vocal Study (2 hours)
