A good way to spend the summer between first and second year is the Hospital Medical Education (HME) Program at Ball Memorial Hospital. This offers two week rotation opportunities in areas such as Cardiology, Family Practice, Neonatology and Surgery, among others. As many rotations as desired can be arranged from the second week of May up until school starts again in August. Pay is $250/week, with meal tickets provided for the hospital.

The Summer Research Scholarship is awarded to a student during the summer between their first and second year who is interested in doing research with a faculty member at the IUSOM-Muncie. The total amount of this scholarship is $4,200.
