BeneficenceDedicated in September, 1937, Beneficence (affectionately known as "Benny") has become the symbol of Ball State. She is the last commissioned work of Daniel Chester French, best known as the sculptor of the Abraham Lincoln statue in the Lincoln Memorial.
Benny was commissioned by the citizens of Muncie to honor the Ball family for its generosity and support.
Ball State's Archives and Special Collections has put together a special tribute to Benny.
