Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or fields of business administration at time of appointment; experience in marketing services in areas such as organizational communication, change management/management strategies, or strategic communications; demonstrated skills in data analysis and conducting marketing surveys using focus groups, surveys, and other similar instruments; working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications; strong planning and demonstrated implementation skills; demonstrated strong oral/written communications and interpersonal skills; demonstrated experience using traditional media (radio/television/print) and emerging media Web 2.0 tools; may require working some evenings and/or weekends.

Preferred qualifications: earned doctorate in communications or a MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA accredited program; experience in library public relations, promotions work, and/or not-for-profit or government work. Salary to $46,760 plus excellent benefits.

Collections Development Librarian

Responsibilities: develop University Libraries’ collections by performing activities related to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, accessibility, and maintenance of electronic, digital, and other information resources; strengthen and promote collections based on data analysis and understanding of University curricula, programs, and research needs and knowledge of emerging trends in scholarly communications and publishing. Minimum qualifications: MLS/MLIS/MIS degree from an ALA accredited program at time of appointment; at least one year of experience in library acquisitions, collection management, or electronic resources management; effective oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications; ability to work productively and collaboratively in an environment of changes; analytical and problem solving skills. Assignment may require working some evenings and/or weekends.

Preferred qualifications: additional advanced degrees in an academic discipline; academic library experience; experience with approval book plans and library automated systems; familiarity with publishers and issues and trends in publishing. Salary up to $48,100 plus excellent benefits.
