Hear from public relations and communications experts about tried-and-true strategies to build a successful, results-oriented communications plan and tailor the information from this workshop to increase your organization’s visitor count.

The conference will take place at the Ball State University Alumni Center. This conference is geared toward librarians, information professionals, and those who work for museums and historical societies. Attendees are asked to check-in by 8:30 a.m.

Learn how to create a strategic communications plan
Learn how to understand your audience’s needs through research data
Gain insight on building a brand, creating an identity that positions your organization in a favorable, consistent manner
Understand the difference between marketing and public relations
Hear about ways to build long-term customer relationships
Address the needs and wants of your adult audience by developing successful programming
Get ideas on how to connect with your community through great public relations, programming and collaboration
Hear the value of employing a slogan, tagline or graphic identity
See design do’s and don’ts from the pro’s
Assemble a fun and easy list of ideas to promote your library on a shoestring budget
Network with others who are engaged in some of the same challenges and opportunities as you
Receive great hand-outs to take and share with others so that plans may be developed specific to your organization
